First off, let me address the missing star... this is because of the dreaded buzz. It's there, and sounds like a bad ballast in a fluorescent light fixture. However, I've grown "mostly" accustomed to it after 5 days of viewing. If I listen intently for the buzz I can hear it, but if I get wrapped up in a movie like I normally do, I do not hear it at all. Samsung's explanation for the buzz and what they consider normal, is truly ludicrous. The buzz will be more noticable in smaller rooms, and will almost disappear in large rooms like family and living rroms. Also, some people are more susceptible to hearing the buzz than others. It all boils down to the environment and the individual... it's a problem, but not necessarily for all.

The picture quality blows my mind. I have a 52" 120Hz Sony, and viewed 46" 240Hz LCD sets from Samsung, LG and Sony at home, and none can compare to this set. BluRay is phenomenal, so is HD over-the-air, in fact even standard definition programming looks great. I will say though that SD via the cable STB is better than direct from the coax cable.

Blacks... I always hear plasma supporters talk about deep, inky blacks... maybe that's why the picture looks so great.

Glare and reflections... This was a real surprise. I had an LG with a glossy screen and I had to rearrange the lighting to prevent distracting reflections. I've always gone against plasmas because of their shiny, reflective screens but this set taught me that technology is aggressively addressing this issue. With the screen off last night, I was staring at reflections of a lamp and the surrounding wall, picture frames, etc. Once the set was on... no reflections.

Sound... is as good as expected from any television. My expectations were not high, so these speakers did not disappoint. In fact I had the volume up to 70, on a scale of 1 - 100, and there was no distortion or unpleasantness.

All in all, with the exception of the buzzing (that some hear and others don't) this set provides an exceptional viewing experience! I would not hesitate to recommend this set.
