First, the television - well worth the money. The model I received has the "good" panel, and the picture quality, field of view, and brightness are all top notch. I haven't upgraded the cable box to HD yet, but DVDs, Wii, and XBox360 all look amazing. No blurring or ghosting is evident, and there's no apparent picture lag when playing video games. The sound is passable, but I wasn't really expecting much. The packaging, on the other hand, was unacceptable. I nearly refused delivery after seeing the state of the box - the retail box (Hi! I'm a big television!) had a mailing label affixed to it. It was also severely beaten up and nearly open on one end. After noting this to the UPS driver and hearing no rattling parts on a gentle shake, I accepted the package. Turned out that nothing inside the box was damaged, but I would expect better packaging on a big ticket item, especially from Amazon. My past experience with packaging on Amazon deliveries has always been good, but I'll probably think twice before buying anything large or expensive.
